Manager, Business Development/Account Management – Brazil
Sidebar is a next generation personalization technology company focused on enabling content discovery for millions of consumers while increasing sales and loyalty for our enterprise clients. We are a fast growing, well funded startup based in Santa Monica, CA with a seasoned board and management team. We are rapidly expanding across business segments and regions and are looking to add a Manager of Business Development in Brazil to our team in order to accelerate international growth.
Position Description:
The Manager of Business Development/Account Management will be responsible for building and managing Sidebar’s relationships with wireless carriers, platform providers, Internet portals, Internet OEMs, etc., in Brazil. Candidates will understand and be able to articulate a value proposition that emphasizes the power of Sidebar’s multi-faceted solution that works across device platforms, content types and messaging solutions.
This position offers the opportunity for the right candidate to grow into a senior role within the organization assuming major account and business responsibility.
Duties will include:
- Manage all aspects of business development/account management in Brazil.
- Identify use-cases and assist with deal negotiation with wireless carriers, platform providers, Internet portals, IPTV and Cable providers.
- Expand Sidebar’s existing relationships. Work with clients to build a product roadmap with clear timelines, expectations and marketing plans, growing the overall business.
- Assist with product deployments and project management.
- Participate in local conferences and industry events. Evangelize the Brazilian market about Sidebar and leverage your existing network of contacts.
- Potential to manage sales and operations in other countries in Latin America.
Ideal Candidate:
- Must be a self-starter with the confidence and industry experience to thrive
- Strong digital media background and existing relationships with mobile content publishers, telecom and cable operators, Internet portals and OEMs
- 5 years of Business Development/ Sales / Account Management experience in the digital media, gaming and mobile sectors
- Proven ability to perform in a consultative manner with strong communication skills – both written and verbal – and convincing presentation style
- Ability to work with product teams having a basic understanding of the technical aspects of platform design and enterprise server features and functionality
- Excellent interpersonal skills – dynamic, engaging and confident presence
- Project management experience a plus, preferably in the digital media and/or mobile sectors
- Bachelors Degree
Additional Considerations:
- Position is based in Brazil, preferably São Paulo (or Rio de Janeiro)
- Ability to work remotely across different time-zones
- Moderate travel required
- The ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-energy market is a must
- Experience within a start-up environment is desired
- Must be fluent in English and Portuguese; Spanish is a plus
