Evan LaPointe

Evan coaches founders, product leaders, and executives who want to think clearly and see past the surface to how things really work…with particular depth around how great decisions get made under uncertainty and the human mechanics behind why products, teams, and strategies win.

He is a 4x founder with exits to Adobe and private equity. He invented Satellite, which Adobe acquired in 2013 and which became Adobe's fastest-growing product ever, then led product and long-range strategy for Adobe's Experience Cloud. He has since spent a decade studying the science of how people think and decide, and coaches leaders at Anthropic, Stripe, Pinterest, and Google. He teaches Logical Thinking on Maven and was a featured guest on Lenny's Podcast.

Evan's coaching works on the mechanisms in the mind, not the symptoms on the surface. Most problems that reach a leader get diagnosed as execution, process, or talent issues; he helps clients trace them to what's actually driving the outcome, using causal reasoning, first principles, probabilistic thinking, and the science of how people think. The goal isn't a better answer to this week's problem. It's judgment that applies everywhere.

His style is direct, rigorous, and energizing. Sharp enough to be honest and precise about the flaws in reasoning, engaging and compassionate enough that better thinking feels like progress instead of critique.

"I coach because I've spent my career watching smart, hardworking people stumble for reasons they couldn't see. Effort is rarely the gap; clarity is. My job is to help leaders see what's really going on, so they walk out understanding the situation and what to do better than anyone else in the room."
